TRIP AROUND THE WORLD 2003. (USA, Fiji, New Zealand and Japan)
This report is in the first place intended for relatives, friends and acquaintances. Maybe not always

45. In a hilly country like NZ it is often easier and cheaper to spread fertilizer by plane. Here you see the plane being filled with super phosphate. The landing-strip was very short and steep. It gave the plane its speed to get of the ground by running full speed downhill. The landing was done by going up the steep hill.
46. The heavy laden plane takes of at the bottom of the hill.
47. The spreading of the fertilizer. It almost looked like stunt-flying. If the plane is too high the fertilizer will blow away and land in the wrong place. That's why it flies as low as possible in the hilly country. When the plane was empty it banked very steeply in order to be able to land as soon as possible. The landing, filling, taking off, spreading and again landing went in an extremely high pace. It was a fascinating sight.
48. The pilot takes a well-deserved lunchbreak.
49. From a distance it looked like a tree with leaves. When coming close it turned out to be a bare tree with a kind of moss trails.
